Top World Cricket School
Sedbergh School is an international, full-boarding school uniquely located in England’s Lake District National Park; a UNESCO recognised area of outstanding natural beauty. The School has an international reputation for its sporting achievements and takes great pride in offering a broad range of sporting opportunities for all pupils, whatever their aptitudes and abilities.
Cricket has been a longstanding part of Sedbergh School’s summer programme of sport. An all-year round cricket programme is run by Martin Speight (Sussex, Durham and Wellington), the Director of Cricket and the Cricket professional. This includes a strength & conditioning programme, pre-school cricket sessions, individual 1-2-1 sessions and team training sessions.
The Cricket Club has eight boys’ teams – 1st XI, 2nd XI, 3rd XI, U17, U15A and B, U14A and B – and three girls’ team – 1st XI, U15 and U14; matches. Whilst the boys have seen a high level of individual and team success, girls’ cricket is also flourishing at the school.
The school has produced many outstanding players who have represented their country – including Harry Brook who made his England T20 Test debut in 2022 – as well as many County Cricket Club players.
